WHY We Specialize and Photograph Multiple Things………
I actually never get asked this question, but I occasionally read other photographers’ opinions that specializing in just one area is somehow better than specializing in many. I’m here to kindly say HOG WASH to that thought process in my own words. I absolutely LOVE capturing the diverse areas of photography that we do and here’s why:
Photographing many different areas of specialty keeps it interesting for me. I never, ever get bored doing the same thing over, over and over again because I mix it up throughout the week.
Photographing different areas of specialty lets me fill up my entire week! For instance, weddings are typically on the weekends, seniors are between my weddings to fill in my weekend gaps and most everything else is during the week, like real estate, product, headshots, apparel etc. Families, equine and livestock are usually flexible and mixed in all over the board. To me, this is the perfect way to stay busy, and still set my own schedule giving me ample time to edit and take days off as needed.
I CAN CATER TOWARD EVERY ASPECT OF MY CLIENTS PHOTOGRAPHY NEEDS! This is huge to me, and the number one reason I do what I do. Why would you want to call ten different photographers for ten different things? I have clients who literally call me repeatedly for their graduates, weddings, event coverages, family photos, their children’s birthday photos, their business headshots and branding needs, and they even tell their realtors to use me for selling their home photos! It’s ideal, and a no brainer in my mind. My VIP discount also helps repeat customers ease their budget.
Because of my vast areas of expertise, photographing in different scenarios, in different lighting situations, and using completely different gear depending on the situation, I have more experience in every aspect of photography than the average Joe.
THE PEOPLE that we meet & the PLACES that we go are truly remarkable! It doesn’t matter if we’re out photographing families, seniors, weddings, headshots, businesses or products, we get to meet the coolest people and travel to the most amazing places! We’ve met and worked with brides, graduates, families, couples, equestrians, artists, veterinarians, realtors, FFA students, engineers, ranchers, business owners and an array of other individuals all over Texas & beyond that we hold a special bond with and who we consider family. I think we know every back road in Texas and we enjoy the scenery no matter which direction we go. You’ll see I’ve used ‘we’ a lot, and that’s because I often have either my husband Buddy (aka my oh so cute light guy) with me, or a second and/or third photographer traveling with me.
Since I’ve run my business this way for so long, I actually DO specialize in all of the arenas that I photograph, and I would never have it any other way. If you’re a repeat client, thank you for your continued business! If you’re contemplating using our services, I hope to meet you soon. My clients are my everything and are a true blessing. Let’s make memories.
