I hear it all the time…………
‘If I knew the weather was going to be so bad, I would have scheduled our photoshoot for last semester!’ Yes, it can rain or freeze a lot in Texas. We will always reschedule your shoot to the next available date if the weather is bad, but, be aware that it could push weeks or months out. Putting off your senior session until late in the spring semester is risky. Not only can the weather keep the shoot from happening on your scheduled day, but also, you run the risk of not finding an available date at all. I advise that everyone schedule at least 6 months to 1 year in advance to prevent not finding an available date and giving you some wiggle room with weather delays.
‘You don’t have any dates available?’ Procrastinating to get your photoshoot on the books can greatly decrease your chances of getting a shoot on the day, month, season or even year of your choice. I always, always recommend scheduling your wedding or photoshoot ASAP. We start filling optimal dates and weekends 1-2 years in advance. The last-minute schedulers, who are lucky enough to get a fill in date, often end up with weekday or shoots that are way after the timeline they were hoping for. Also, keep in mind, If KDP is overly booked and still fits you in, your images could take a lot longer than if you had scheduled early on. In the event you reach out with an initial inquiry about a shoot or dates, please be aware that a scheduled shoot is not officially ‘on the books’, and your date is not secured until your 50% deposit is paid, and your model release contract is signed. Until that time, dates are wide open to the next scheduler.
‘Could I pay you extra to expedite my images?’ We will try accommodating deadlines if at all possible, however, please communicate your needs with Kimberly early on. It’s always surprising, however, to have potential clients who call just days or weeks before a graduation or other event wanting to squeeze in a senior or portrait session, and then they ask for rush service after the session. If, by chance, something opens up and we are able to accommodate them, their images are produced behind the previously scheduled clients. We edit everything in order of shoot date to be fair to everyone, especially those who booked early on.
